A growing civil and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee public works, utility, and infrastructure construction projects across Southern California. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations are coordinated effectively.
The ideal candidate has experience managing civil or utility construction projects and can lead teams while maintaining strong communication with owners, engineers, and field crews.
The company has been operating in Southern California since the late 1980s and specializes in heavy civil, underground utilities, and public works infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients.
Key Responsibilities

Manage civil and infrastructure construction projects from preconstruction through closeout

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts

Lead subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and scope coordination

Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation

Coordinate closely with Superintendents to ensure field execution and productivity

Track job costs, billing, and financial performance of projects

Maintain communication with owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors

Identify risks, resolve field issues, and maintain project schedules
-
Lead project meetings and provide progress updates to internal teams and clients

Ensure successful project closeout including punch lists, warranties, and final documentation
Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager with a contractor

Experience managing civil construction, underground utilities, or infrastructure projects

Strong understanding of construction scheduling, contracts, and cost management

Ability to manage multiple project scopes simultaneously

Experience coordinating subcontractors and field teams

Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore or similar platforms

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
