Job Description
This Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives is responsible for the oversight and implementation of major strategic projects that drive organizational efficiency, process improvement and workflow development. This role involves autonomy in decision-making and developing approaches to complex challenges with outcomes that have a lasting impact to multiple departments. The position requires cross-functional collaboration and a strong understanding of core systems to ensure successful project execution and long-term business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage strategic operations projects aimed at enhancing workflow and efficiency. Develop solutions to complex business challenges through in-depth analysis and alignment with organizational goals. Oversee project implementation and process improvements while minimizing disruption to stakeholders. Apply critical thinking to plan and execute initiatives, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Participate in setting strategic direction to establish near term goals for area(s) of responsibility. Interact with both client and VIVA HEALTH senior management, which may involve negotiating or influencing on significant matters.
- Facilitate and lead project meetings, including status updates, stakeholder alignment sessions, and change discussions while ensuring buy-in and effective communication across all parties.
- Manage a variety of project types, including facilities-related renovations and technical initiatives, by coordinating with internal departments, external vendors, and contactors to ensure all project components are aligned and executed effectively.
- Demonstrate proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including Microsoft Project, to manage project portfolios, develop detailed plans, create schedules, and build work breakdown structures. Learn and utilize core systems to support informed decision-making and optimize project delivery, ensuring alignment with business processes and technical infrastructure.
- Develop and deliver high-quality project documentation, including status reports, executive presentations, communication materials, and analysis reports tailored to senior leadership needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience managing strategic projects
- Detailed knowledge of healthcare operations fundamentals
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word and Excel
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Experience with data analytics and business strategy
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree
- Proven experience managing technical projects
- Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or willingness to obtain certification within 12 months of employment
- Six Sigma Certification
- Agile project management experience
