Overview:
A well-established California-based General Contractor is seeking a Project Manager with a strong background in commercial construction, specifically within the retail and restaurant sectors. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing ground-up, site work, and tenant improvement (TI) projects from preconstruction through closeout. Primary Duties:

Oversee all phases of retail and restaurant construction projects, including new builds and tenant improvements

Perform estimating, take-offs, budgeting, and preconstruction planning

Secure subcontracts, materials, and vendor agreements

Collaborate with property owners, landlords, architects, engineers, and inspectors to ensure project alignment

Create and manage detailed project schedules to meet key milestones and deadlines
-
Lead and support field teams, ensuring quality control and timely progress

Maintain clear communication with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams

Prepare and submit weekly updates, RFIs, change orders, and payment documentation
Requirements:
-
A minimum of 4+ years serving in a Project Manager role managing Commercial projects
- Experience in both Ground-up and Tenant Improvement projects

Restaurant and Retail project background is strongly

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; experience with Procore is highly desirable

Solid understanding of construction methods, codes, and safety practices

Ability to manage several projects concurrently with precision and accountability

Comfortable working closely with clients, municipalities, and regulatory officials throughout the construction lifecycle
