Onyx is seeking a Project Manager based in Huntsville with flexible hybrid work availability. This opportunity is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced aerospace environment and enjoys guiding complex programs from early planning through delivery. The role places you at the center of next aviation development, working closely with engineering, operations, and flight teams. A commitment to quality, strong coordination skills, and confident communication will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
• Lead aerospace programs from concept through delivery with organized planning and dependable execution
• Manage schedules, risk logs, decisions, and documentation with a strong focus on quality
• Run planning sessions that convert strategy into actionable program milestones
Communication and Reporting
• Provide clear and compelling updates to internal teams and external partners
• Ensure leadership has full visibility into risks, blockers, and resource needs
• Work collaboratively with engineering, operations, flight test, supply chain, commercial, and government focused teams
Team Coordination
• Ensure all contributors understand objectives and delivery expectations
• Clear barriers that slow progress and promote collaborative problem solving
• Support creation of statements of work, resource estimates, and milestone reviews
Risk and Issue Management
• Identify risks early and guide well thought out mitigation strategies
• Track issues through closure and maintain organized decision history
• Keep teams aligned on critical path efforts and quality expectations
Qualifications
• Seven or more years of experience managing technical programs in aerospace, aviation, robotics, defense, or other complex engineering fields
• Experience with DoD or federal programs is , including familiarity with disciplined documentation, program structure, and quality driven execution
• Active Secret clearance required with eligibility for TS SCI
• Strong fluency with program management and scheduling tools
• Proven success leading cross functional groups in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bring clarity to complex topics
• Experience working with government customers, regulatory partners, or contracting offices is
