A growing manufacturer in the architectural metal and fabrication is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Project Manager to oversee projects from award through final delivery. This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of project execution, including planning, scheduling, technical review, procurement, vendor coordination, and customer communication.

CONTRACT TO HIRE

$24-40/HR depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects to ensure on-time completion while meeting customer, engineering, drafting, and production requirements
  • Own full project lifecycle, including scope, schedule, and budget management
  • Ensure commitments are clearly documented, risks are proactively managed, and changes are formally approved
  • Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and technical documents to support accurate fabrication planning
  • Validate project scope against manufacturing capabilities, lead times, and material availability
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with production and internal teams
  • Source and obtain bids from suppliers, finishing vendors, and subcontractors; issue purchase orders as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Estimating, Drafting, Engineering, and Production teams
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding updates, schedules, submittals, and issue resolution
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and updates within ERP and workflow systems
  • Monitor project performance and escalate issues or delays as needed
  • Support value engineering initiatives to improve manufacturability, cost efficiency, and lead times

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of project management experience in manufacturing OR commercial construction
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience is a plus
  • High attention to detail and ability to understand technical concepts
