Pay Range: $104,000 – $161,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
Position Overview
The Project Manager – Land Development will lead and oversee a variety of commercial and residential site civil projects from concept through completion. This role requires technical expertise in civil engineering design, strong leadership and client management skills, and a proven ability to manage project performance and delivery.
The ideal candidate will bring a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland, experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Vision, and a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams on complex land development projects. This position offers a dynamic, growth-oriented environment with opportunities to contribute to business development and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage site civil engineering projects from initiation through completion, ensuring technical quality, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and Vision software for project design, modeling, and analysis.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, surveyors, and environmental specialists, to deliver cohesive project outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for project communication and coordination.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to firm growth and regional expansion.
- Oversee project financial performance, including budgeting, billing, and invoicing processes.
- Implement and maintain quality control and assurance procedures to ensure deliverables meet or exceed industry standards.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
- Prepare proposals, reports, and technical documentation in support of business development and client presentations.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Maryland (required).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Vision software (required).
- Proven experience managing commercial and residential land development projects, including design and permitting processes.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting requirements.
- Demonstrated success in client relationship management and business development.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings and coordinate across disciplines.
Work Environment & Additional Information
- Full-time position, Monday–Friday.
