Project Manager – New York, NY
The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate commercial construction projects from initial concept through completion. Responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to identify engineering challenges and construction methods. Working closely under the direction of a director or vice president, this role involves collaboration with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to manage site setup, preparation, and overall organization.
With leadership guidance, the Project Manager will assess site and building conditions by conducting structural reviews, dilapidation surveys, and evaluating elements such as acoustics and internal fittings. Duties also include preparing cost estimates, budgets, bids, and contracts, as well as developing logistics, sequencing, and construction schedules. The role requires coordination of all project phases, subcontractor management, and regular reporting for senior leadership review.
Additional responsibilities include preparing cost-tracking reports, assisting with schematic design and planning, ensuring compliance with permitting and regulatory requirements, performing snagging/de-snagging, and facilitating whiteboard meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
- 2 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Manager
- 2 years of experience reviewing blueprints/drawings with AutoCAD and Revit, and preparing periodic reports
- 2 years of experience in cost estimating and budgeting
- 2 years of experience managing project schedules with Procore, MS Project, Excel, Word, and Timberline, as well as performing snagging/de-snagging with Fieldview
- 1 year of experience monitoring trade output rates and leading whiteboard meetings, toolbox talks, project inductions, and environmental briefings
Compensation:
$110,000 – $150,000 annually
