Project Manager

Interested candidates must submit proven successfully completed projects in the power industry. Recent project experience in the power industry including BESS-battery energy storage systems, gas turbines, switchyards, etc.

Assume overall responsibility for all aspects of the project including safety, budget, scope, schedule, subcontractors, and client relations. Interfaces with clients, subcontractors and employees daily. Review drawings, develop change orders, maintain the project schedule including critical path activities. Develops corrective action plans to mitigate issues quickly and effectively. Source, review and evaluate bids, subcontracts and purchase orders.

Responsibility for leading and managing the successful design, construction, execution, and completion of any number of projects in the heavy industrial arena. Ensure the project is designed, managed, and completed in a safe, reliable, quality, timely, and cost-effective manner. The Project Manager is the primary responsible individual for managing the major activities of engineering and construction through commercial operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides overall leadership and oversight to the project team and their activities
  • Manages project schedules
  • Maintains overall project scope of work
  • Manages project budget and resource allocation, including the management of costs, through the review and approval of procurement activities, purchase orders, change orders and invoicing
  • Constantly monitors and reports on progress of the project
  • Defines project objectives and plans their completion; then as needed implements project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Encourages and motivates internal and external teams to keep project, and related activities, on schedule and on budget
  • Manages consultants, subcontractors, construction managers and project teams to ensure contract plan specifications are adhered to
  • Utilizes effective communication skills to complete tasks and overcome issues
  • Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance programs
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution and control systems
  • Must be able to work with confidential information
  • Responsible for project meetings and status updates
  • Prepare RFQ for subcontractor bids. Evaluate bids

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in proven project management on energy storage, gas turbines, switchyard, and renewable energy projects, including preconstruction services. Electrical background a plus.

Aptitude to switch to different technologies (gas turbine, energy storage, heavy industrial construction, etc.)

Ability to understand contracts and defines project baseline, scope, insurance and bonding, resource allocation and deliverables.

Creates and maintains schedules, financial forecasting, contract compliance, subcontracts, purchase orders and progress reports and oversee all other project documentation.

Establishes and maintains on-site quality management.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexible schedule and willingness to travel as a project may dictate.
