Project Manager | High-Voltage Infrastructure (Offshore Energy) | Germany | Freelance

Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Hybrid (Germany-based with offshore and onshore site visits)

Contract Type: Freelance

Rate: Depending on experience

Length: 12 Months

I am recruiting a seasoned Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a cutting-edge offshore transmission system that will reshape how renewable energy reaches the mainland. This is a multi-billion-euro initiative with global visibility, and we need someone who thrives in high-stakes, multi-disciplinary environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end execution of a complex offshore grid connection project from design through commissioning.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and installation.
• Manage interfaces between offshore platforms, cable systems, and onshore substations.
• Ensure compliance with technical, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Drive stakeholder engagement across contractors, regulators, and internal leadership.
• Monitor budgets, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or energy projects (ideally >€500M).
• Strong understanding of HVDC systems, offshore wind, or transmission technologies.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills in multicultural, multi-vendor settings.
• Fluency in English; German is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to offshore and onshore sites as needed.
