Job: Project Manager with FAA

Location: Oklahoma City, OK.

Type: Full Time


About the Role

Join a dynamic team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration’s Aerospace Medical Research Division. As Project Manager, you will oversee technical, management, and administrative support services for aviation safety research, ensuring continuous onsite staffing and agile access to technical expertise.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide contract and program management for multiple research projects within the Aerospace Medical Research & Safety Assurance Division.
  • Supervise and coordinate support staff to ensure tasks are accomplished efficiently, accurately, on time, and in compliance with requirements.
  • Participate as a member of a government-led team and lead kickoff meetings, status reviews, and quarterly Program Management Reviews (PMRs).
  • Develop project plans, cost estimates, and budgets; monitor and update project schedules, spend plans, and deliverables.
  • Liaise with external organizations to establish and maintain relationships.
  • Prepare and present briefing slides, status reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Track project development, facilitate meetings, and collaborate on abstracts, manuscripts, and professional activities.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA standards, CAMI policies, and ISO-9001 certified FAA AVS QMS procedures.
  • Support transition planning and continuity of operations as required.


Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited university in any field (A Bachelor’s degree with exceptional, directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s, per FAA contract requirements)
  • 10+ years of related project/program management experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • PMP Certification
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, budgeting, and managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in American English
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with federal government employees
  • Experience preparing documentation, reports, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences


Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an FAA-issued identification badge
  • Must comply with all FAA/CAMI security, safety, and conduct policies
  • Must be available during government operational hours (Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM; normal office hours 8:00 AM–4:30 PM)
  • Participation in government-provided training and professional conferences as appropriate
  • Ability to travel as required (with prior approval)


Key Deliverables

  • Monthly Status Reports and Invoices
  • Quarterly Program Management Review (PMR) presentations and meeting minutes
  • Project schedules and recommendations as required
