Project Manager/Estimator in Toledo

• Build relationships
• Price work accurately
• Win projects consistently
• And drive them to high-margin completion

If you’ve never been directly responsible for revenue, margin, and closing work, this role is not a fit.

• Identify, pursue, and close profitable work across:
• • Municipal/public bid opportunities
  • Private commercial, industrial, and developer-driven work
• Build relationships with:
• • Municipalities and public agencies
  • General Contractors
  • Developers and property owners
• Follow up relentlessly on bids and proposals
• Maintain a strong personal pipeline of work
• Perform takeoffs and pricing for:
• • Sewer & water infrastructure
  • Site work and civil scopes
  • Emergency and repair work
• Review plans, specs, and bid documents (public and private)
• Analyze risk, margins, and production assumptions
• Submit competitive, profitable bids
• Manage awarded jobs from kickoff to closeout
• Own:
• • Budget vs. actual performance
  • Labor productivity
  • Equipment utilization
  • Material costs
• Drive margin protection and improvement
• Handle RFIs, submittals, and change orders aggressively and correctly

Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• A track record of winning work (public and/or private)
• Ownership of project P&L / job costing
• Strong field understanding of underground utilities or civil construction
• Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight
• High accountability—this is a results-driven role

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction estimating and/or project management
  (civil, underground utilities, or site work strongly )
• Proven ability to close projects and generate revenue
• Experience working with public bid work, private work, or both
• • Experience managing both municipal/public and private development projects
  • Existing relationships in Northwest Ohio / Southeast Michigan
  • • Familiarity with:
    • • ODOT / municipal bidding processes
      • Private negotiated work
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong change order and client negotiation skills
• Deep understanding of:
• • Sewer & waterline construction
  • Plans, specs, and contracts
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel daily across the Toledo region
• Strong proficiency in Excel, construction documentation, and construction-based software

Base Salary

• $75,000 – $150,000 depending on experience and proven performance

Performance Bonus (Unlimited Upside)

Based on production on a quarterly or yearly basis
