Project Manager/Estimator [NL-14347]

Job Description

Shirley Parsons is working with a well established commercial construction firm in the Portland, ME area. This company is looking to add a strong candidate who will be able to see a project through from preconstruction through completion. The ideal candidate will be able to manage schedules and budgets while also cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders and sub contractors.

The Role:

• Create detailed early-phase project timelines, ensuring alignment with client goals and coordinating efforts among design professionals and consulting teams.
• Gain a thorough and accurate grasp of the project’s scope by analyzing drawings, documentation, and cost estimates.
• Formulate a robust project delivery strategy and timeline of key milestones—defining priorities, organizing tasks, setting measurable goals, and delegating roles to maintain steady progress throughout the construction process.
• Conduct comprehensive quantity assessments, calculate material and labor expenses, request and evaluate subcontractor bids, and assemble final Guaranteed Maximum Prices to produce precise and competitive proposals.

The Candidate:

• 5+ years in managing public and private commercial construction projects from beginning to end of a project timeline.
• Experience in working commercial projects from $500K-10 million.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of construction financials and financial risk and application to job site work.
• Effectively lead project team members and subcontractors while mentoring and supporting less experienced team members.
