Anderson Construction, Inc is currently hiring for a Project Manager/Estimator that is versed in Waste Water Treatment Processes, Water Treatment Processes, Water Booster Systems and Waste Water Pumping Systems.

Job Summary
The Project Manager/Estimator manages civil construction projects, with a strong emphasis on water and wastewater treatment plants and related infrastructure. This dual-role encompasses the entire project lifecycle, requiring skills in cost estimation, project planning, execution, and closeout. The ideal candidate has a understanding of heavy civil construction methods, an network of subcontractors and vendors, and a track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-million-dollar projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

Estimating duties:

  • Analyze project documents; Review blueprints, specifications, and scope-of-work documents to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Bid Preparation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for all project phases, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors. Special attention is given to complex civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes within treatment plants.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships: Contact suppliers for material pricing and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors for labor costs.
  • Perform quantity take-offs: Conduct thorough quantity surveys and take-offs using advanced estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam, InEight) and other tools.
  • Mitigate risk: Evaluate risks such as potential price fluctuations, regulatory changes, or weather, and factor these into the cost estimate.
  • Finalize and present bids: Assist with the final bid assembly and presentation to senior management and clients.

Project management duties:

  • Oversee project execution: Develop project plans, establish timelines, and oversee all phases of construction from inception to completion.
  • Manage project finances: Create and manage project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and oversee the procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Lead project teams: Guide and manage project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth operations and efficient task delegation.
  • Project communication: Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other specialists to define objectives and provide regular progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance and safety: Enforce strict adherence to all environmental regulations, permits, quality standards, and safety protocols. Oversee the permitting and quality control processes from start to finish.
  • Project documentation: Prepare and maintain proper administration of all project documents, including contracts, submittals, RFIs, and closeout packages.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop project plans, establish timelines, and oversee all phases of construction from inception to completion.

Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in building construction, civil engineering, architecture, construction management or comparable technical education and/or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in civil construction, in water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Technical skills:
  • Knowledge with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, InEight, or similar.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, MS Project, or Primavera.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret complex construction plans, specifications, and design documents.
  • Soft skills:
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
