Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager/Estimator to join our team at Lift Solutions Holdings (LSH), a leading crane manufacturer specializing in high-quality, custom-engineered lifting solutions. The Project Manager/Estimator will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of crane manufacturing projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. This role will require exceptional project management skills, a technical understanding of crane systems, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams. You will prepare precise, competitive cost estimates—covering overhead traveling cranes, runways, hoists, installation, freight, and services—by analyzing client specifications, shop drawings, BOMs, labor/material rates, and collaborating with Engineering, Sales, Service, and Production teams
Duties & Responsibilities
Estimating & Cost Analysis
- Develop detailed estimates (materials, labor, freight, install, indirect costs).
- Review specs and drawings to define scope and feasibility.
- Source and evaluate vendor quotes (steel, hoists, controls).
- Support Sales with proposals, pricing, and pre-bid coordination.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring code compliance (CMAA, OSHA, ASME).
- Assess risks related to materials, labor, logistics, and site conditions.
Project Management
- Define project scope, budget, and timeline with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Liaise with Engineering, Production, Procurement, Installation, and clients.
- Ensure design compliance and material availability.
Customer Engagement
- Maintain clear communication with clients from kickoff through closeout.
- Resolve issues, provide updates, and lead post-project reviews.
Process Improvement
- Optimize workflows, reduce lead times, and standardize tools/reporting.
- Drive best practices across project management.
Financial Oversight
- Track budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
- Manage change orders and escalate budget deviations.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and promote a culture of quality.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years in crane or industrial estimating; 5+ years in project management ( in cranes/heavy equipment).
- Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Mgmt, or related field.
- Technical Skills: Strong in estimating tools, ERP, Excel (VBA a plus), blueprint reading, and crane systems.
- Certifications: PMP ; knowledge of CMAA, ASME, OSHA codes.
- Other: Valid driver’s license; able to manage multiple bids under pressure.
