Project Manager / Estimator

Job Purpose

We are seeking a results-driven Project Manager / Estimator with a background in Civil Engineering and fieldwork. This individual will manage and oversee civil construction projects from bid preparation through project completion. They will be responsible for estimating costs, coordinating subcontractors, managing field operations, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Oversee and coordinate all phases of construction projects, ensuring successful execution and client satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (CPM) and perform updates as required Compile, review, and track all project submittals for client approval
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractor work on-site, ensuring safety and compliance with project specifications

Estimating

  • Searches, analyzes and prepares bid packages
  • Prepare bids by gathering and analyzing project proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements; compute overall project costs
  • Present estimates with clear numerical and descriptive information for internal and client review
  • Maintain and update the internal cost database
  • Resolve discrepancies and estimation issues through analysis and effective communication

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related field required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HeavyBid, Primavera, SureTrack, and Expedition
  • Strong knowledge of IDOT, CDOT, and County specifications and standards
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in both field and office settings
  • Experience in both estimating and field/project management is required

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in civil construction, estimating, and project management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Prior work with public agencies (IDOT, CDOT, counties) is a plus
