Purpose:
The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for overseeing and leading projects from initiation to completion. They work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the projects are completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating project activities, as well as managing project resources, scope, and risks. Additionally, the Project Manager/Estimator will be responsible for reviewing the design plans, analyzing project specifications, and determining the materials, labor, and equipment required for successful execution. They play a crucial role in driving project success and ensuring it meets the desired objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Prepare cost estimates for the entire project, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses.
- Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and changes.
- Provide regular project status reports to senior management.
- Manage project resources, including team members, contractors, and equipment.
- Identify and escalate project issues that require immediate attention.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary data, such as measurements, quantities, and site conditions.
- Conduct project assessments and evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration within the project team.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and streamline project workflows.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Ideally, Project Manager/Estimator will bring a book of Electrical business from trusted customers and will refer qualified electricians to join our ever growing Team of Professional Electricians.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in project management, business, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects within scope and budget.
- Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent leadership and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Certification in project management (PMP, Prince2, etc.) is a plus.
Organization “Fit” Considerations
- This position may require occasional travel.
- The Project Manager may be required to work outside of standard business hours.
- The Project Manager may be required to work at client sites or remotely.
