Sunsprint Engineering is expanding its operations to focus on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex projects across multiple categories, including design-build, solar energy systems, lighting retrofits, HVAC upgrades, CHP (Combined Heat and Power) systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC).
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of these initiatives while ensuring technical excellence, financial performance, and alignment with sustainability goals. This role requires a versatile leader with experience managing diverse energy and infrastructure projects, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Execution
- Scope Development: Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
- Strategic Planning: Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, across multiple projects.
- Execution Oversight: Monitor and manage project progress, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.
2. Technical Leadership Across ECMs
- Design-Build Projects: Lead design-build initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
- Solar Energy Systems: Manage all aspects of solar PV system implementation, including feasibility studies, permitting, installation, and grid interconnection.
- Lighting Retrofits: Oversee lighting upgrade projects, including LED retrofits and smart lighting controls, to achieve energy savings and operational improvements.
- HVAC Upgrades: Supervise HVAC system evaluations, upgrades, and installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and energy efficiency goals.
- CHP Systems: Lead the design and deployment of CHP systems, focusing on energy optimization and reliability.
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS): Manage the design and installation of BESS solutions, ensuring effective integration with renewable energy systems and infrastructure.
- Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC): Oversee ESPC projects, ensuring performance guarantees and energy savings targets are met and documented.
3. Financial and Contract Management
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and alignment with financial objectives.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and service providers to secure cost-effective solutions.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor project finances and ensure compliance with ESPC agreements and performance guarantees.
- Reporting: Provide regular financial updates and performance reports to stakeholders.
4. Risk Management
- Risk Identification: Identify potential risks across technical, financial, and logistical areas of projects.
- Mitigation Strategies: Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to address challenges proactively.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards.
5. Stakeholder and Team Management
- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure project success.
- Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment to drive innovation and efficiency across project teams.
6. Project Monitoring, Closing, and Evaluation
- Performance Monitoring: Track project performance against milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
- Closeout: Ensure smooth transition of completed projects to operations teams, including training and documentation.
- Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct evaluations to assess outcomes against objectives and identify lessons learned for future projects.
Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is .
- Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience managing multidisciplinary projects in renewable energy, energy efficiency, or construction.
- Proven track record in managing design-build, solar PV, lighting, HVAC, CHP, BESS, and ESPC projects.
- Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification .
- LEED accreditation or similar sustainability certification is a plus.
