Job Title: Structured Cabling Project Manager
Location: UK-wide (with /international travel as required)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + Benefits

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in
structured/data cabling to lead the delivery of IT infrastructure projects across a diverse range of environments, including hyperscale data centres, distribution centres, retail estates, hospitals, commercial buildings, construction sites, and student accommodation.
This is a technical and leadership-driven position requiring a hands-on individual capable of managing projects from pre-construction design and planning through to final commissioning and client handover.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Ownership & Delivery
● Take full ownership of all services delivered across assigned projects.
● Serve as the first point of contact for clients, fostering excellent working relationships
and ensuring complete satisfaction.
● Drive project lifecycle from design development to completion and handover.
● Plan and manage delivery resources including engineering labour, materials, tools,
and third-party suppliers.
● Monitor and control project timelines, risk management plans, deliverables, and
change requests.
Client & Commercial Interface
● Act as the lead interface between the business and client for design, commercial,
and operational matters.
● Maintain a strong focus on project P&L - manage budgets, cost reports, and
forecasts.
● Issue monthly internal financial summaries and client progress reports.
● Produce all required project documentation, including method statements, handover
packs, and commissioning certificates.
Technical Scope (Structured Cabling)
● Oversee full IT Construction fit-out of Data Halls and commercial spaces.
● Manage cabinet/rack build, secure anchoring, earthing, and alignment.
● Supervise installation of copper (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7) and fibre (OM4, OS2,
MPO/MTP) backbone and horizontal cabling infrastructure.
● Lead patching, termination, looming, and labelling in line with ISO/IEC and TIA/EIA
standards.
● Manage active equipment installation (switches, servers, patch panels, PDUs,
GPUs/CPUs).
● Direct testing and commissioning (Fluke DTX/DSX, OTDR, OLTS), documentation,
and quality assurance for handover.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
● Ensure project teams comply with HSE regulations, RAMS, and site-specific
protocols.
● Implement and uphold Quality Assurance measures and company-wide H&S
policies.
● Oversee all site-based activity to ensure white space cleanliness, anti-static controls,
and pathway integrity.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
Technical/Professional Experience
● Minimum 5 years' project management experience in structured/data cabling or ICT
infrastructure environments.
● Proven track record delivering structured cabling projects across varying verticals.
● Hands-on background ("from the tools") in installation, testing, and delivery.
● Extensive knowledge of cabling standards and white space infrastructure within data
centres.
Qualifications
● ECS/CSCS Black or Gold Card
● SSSTS / SMSTS (Essential for live site management)
● CNCI / CNIT / CTPM / CDCTP or equivalent data infrastructure certifications
● PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification ()
● IOSH/NEBOSH (desirable)
IT Skills
● Familiarity with Fluke Linkware, Visio/AutoCAD (for drawings), and MS Project
● Understanding of BMS, access control, smart technologies (desirable)

● Valid UK driving license.
