SUMMARY

Bering Global Solutions (BGS), LLC, a company within the BSNC family, is seeking a full-time Project Manager/Data to supervise day-to-day operations of a human performance (HP) program supporting Air Force pilot training at Randolph AFB, Texas. This work will incorporate job-specific conditioning, cutting-edge HP technology, and easy-to-access prehab & rehab physical therapy.

As part of the broader Human Performance team, the Project Manager will work closely with one or more Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Cognitive Performance Specialists, and Performance Dietitians to help student pilots and/or instructor pilots to perform optimally and remain physically and mentally able to perform. At a minimum, the program will address chronic neck and back pain, increased cognitive demands of modern flying operations, and the need for holistic resiliency. The Project Manager for program data is a critical role responsible for the integrity, security, and accessibility of all data related to the CRAFT program. This individual will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and administration of the program’s database systems. This individual will work closely with data professionals, researchers, trainers, and program leadership to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and usability for analysis and reporting, ultimately supporting the program's mission of enhancing aircrew performance and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Database Design and Development:
    • Design, develop, and implement relational databases tailored to the specific needs of CRAFT, considering data collection, storage, retrieval, and analysis requirements. Primarily within the Envision environment.
    • Optimize database structures for performance, scalability, and data integrity.
    • Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, views, and storage procedures.
  • Database Administration and Maintenance:
    • Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures.
    • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.
    • Apply security patches and updates to database systems.
    • Manage user access and permissions.
  • Data Management and Quality Control:
    • Develop and implement data validation procedures to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
    • Clean, transform, and load data from various sources into the database.
    • Develop and maintain data dictionaries and documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and security policies.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain SQL queries and reports to extract and analyze data as well as develop dashboard views of data with Envision.
    • Collaborate with researchers and trainers to understand data requirements for research projects and training programs.
    • Present data findings in a clear and concise manner.
    • Contribute to the development of data-driven insights to improve aircrew performance and safety.
  • System Integration:
    • Integrate the AHPP database with other relevant systems.
    • Collaborate with USAF Data personnel to ensure seamless data flow between systems.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database design, procedures, and updates.
    • Develop user guides and training materials for database users.
  • Other Duties:
    • Stay abreast of current trends and technologies in database management.
    • Participate in program meetings and contribute to program planning.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree .
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of three years of experience in database management.
    • Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
    • Proven experience in database design, development, and administration.
    • Experience with data validation, cleaning, and transformation techniques.
    • Experience with SQL query writing and data analysis.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of database principles and concepts.
    • Proficiency in SQL and other database programming .
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Qualifications:
    • Experience with database security best practices.
    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
    • Experience with cloud-based database solutions.
    • Knowledge of aviation terminology and operations.
    • Knowledge of USAF and DoD terminology and operations.
    • Experience with data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
