Position Summary
We’re partnered with a growing civil contractor specializing in public works and water/wastewater infrastructure projects across Southern California. With a steady backlog of active projects, the team is looking to add both Project Engineers and Project Managers who can support execution across multiple jobs while staying connected to field operations.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants real project exposure, long-term stability, and growth without being overloaded across too many jobs. The team is intentional about keeping workloads manageable (typically ~2 projects vs. 4–5), allowing for better delivery and career development.
Projects span across LA County, Ventura County, and Orange County, with a mix of office-based coordination and field engagement as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Manage or support multiple public works projects focused on water, sewer, and wastewater infrastructure
Drive RFIs, submittals, and documentation to keep projects moving efficiently
Track project costs, budgets, and assist with billing and financial reporting
Coordinate with city agencies, inspectors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and progress
Support field operations and work closely with Superintendents on execution
Assist in scheduling, procurement, and overall project coordination
Maintain strong communication across internal teams and external partners
Typical Projects Include:
Water and wastewater pipeline installations
Sewer and storm drain systems
Pump stations and related infrastructure
Public agency civil improvement projects
Environmentally sensitive site work requiring coordination and compliance
Qualifications
3-8+ years of experience in heavy civil or public works construction (PE to PM level)
Experience with water, sewer, or wastewater projects strongly
Ability to read plans/specs and manage project documentation
Exposure to RFIs, submittals, and cost tracking
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with agencies and field teams
Bluebeam and Excel proficiency required
Civil engineering or construction management background
