️ Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Diesel Mechanic who specializes in the maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment. This full-time role is ideal for a detail-oriented, hands-on professional who enjoys troubleshooting and working independently in a fast-paced environment. The mechanic will be responsible for keeping a fleet of machines in peak working condition to support site development, excavation, and infrastructure work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel-powered construction equipment including:
o Excavators
o Bulldozers
o Backhoes
o Loaders
o Skid steers
o Graders
• Inspect and service hydraulic systems, engine components, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
• Conduct preventative maintenance schedules and ensure DOT compliance
• Maintain service logs, parts inventory, and accurate maintenance records
• Perform in-field repairs and emergency troubleshooting when necessary
• Communicate with equipment operators and site supervisors to prioritize repair needs
• Order parts and coordinate with vendors when needed
• Keep shop and work areas clean, organized, and in compliance with safety protocols
What We’re Looking For:
• 5 to 7 plus years of hands-on experience as a Diesel Mechanic working with heavy construction equipment
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical systems
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools (e.g., CAT ET, Cummins Insite, etc.) is a major plus
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair diagrams
• Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required)
• Must supply own hand tools (specialized tools provided by company)
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship
