The primary responsibility of this Project Manager (SSR) position is to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of multiple projects to ensure that goals or objectives of each project are safely accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters, and that the customer receives a quality product or service that meets or exceeds all requirements. This role will require not only strong project management discipline but also domain expertise in subsea robotics – including remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations – to deliver safe and successful projects in challenging deepwater drilling environments. (Added emphasis to indicate required Subsea Robotics/ROV experience and context of deepwater drilling environments.
REQUIRED
- 3 years of project management experience (or equivalent training)
- Significant offshore/ROV operational experience on deepwater drilling rigs or drillships is essential to succeed in this role.
- Proven experience overseeing or supervising ROV operations in complex offshore environments for major international operators is required.
- Proficiency in project management software & tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Projects.
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate enterprise management systems (e.g., PeopleSoft or similar ERP).
- Valid passport (must be maintained) with the ability to obtain any required visas for international travel.
- Willingness and ability to work on a rotational international assignment onsite in Suriname or other project locations) is required, to support field operations directly.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated customer-facing presence – able to interface confidently with client representatives and establish credibility as the project’s primary customer point-of-contact.

- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field.
- Prior offshore and oilfield operational experience, particularly with remotely operated systems, subsea intervention equipment, or comparable technologies.
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or CAPM are a plus.

TRAVEL AND FIELD WORK
- This role requires regular international travel and extended on-site rotations in-country in Suriname or other field locations. During these rotations, the company provides lodging and transportation.
- Position duties may evolve to meet changing projects or client needs. Final work location, travel requirements, and rotation schedule will be confirmed upon award and may be adjusted over time based on business needs, project requirements, and operational considerations.
- Set up and monitor project budgets.
- Provide revenue and cost advice (including relevant cost accruals).
- Participate in or directly handle forecasting of project revenue and costs.
- Develop and maintain resource-loaded project schedules with detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Provide day-to-day management of assigned projects and project teams, including planning project operations and supervising operational personnel on site.
- Review procedures, determine staffing requirements, and allocate resources to project phases to ensure progress on schedule and within budget.
- Liaise daily on project and system status to identify any issues and ensure the project is running as planned.
- Implement solutions as needed to mitigate downtime or project delays impacting client operations or project profitability.
- Assist customers in developing design ideas and specifications.
- Conduct presentations and assist with sales and marketing activities when appropriate.
- Coordinate with Operations Leads and Sales/Commercial teams in developing bids and proposals.
- Review and approve quality plans and technical procedures
- Create subsea project procedures when required.
- Review project proposals/plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures, staffing needs, and resource allocation for various project phases.
- Establish work plans and staffing for each project phase; provide personnel requirements to Operations in advance.
- Travel to field locations (domestic and international) as required:
- This position may require periodic in-country rotations in Suriname or other project locations to support on-site operations, as determined by project requirements.
- Company-provided lodging and transportation may be available in accordance with project assignment terms and company policy. Travel-related support will also be provided in accordance with project requirements and applicable company policy.
- This rotational presence ensures hands-on oversight of critical ROV projects and close coordination with in-country teams – once established.
- Confer with project staff to outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and authority.
- Direct and coordinate project activities to ensure progress remains on schedule and within budget. Review status reports and adjust schedules or plans as required.
- Review and approve documents to ensure they meet customer specifications.
- Oversee of project-related purchase requisitions (outside general maintenance); review and approve associated supplier invoices.
- Prepare project reports, forecasts, variance explanations, and other technical/financial reports for management and clients as needed.
- Review and approve project invoices; assist with accounts receivable issues with customers.
- Maintain training and certifications (including HSE, technical, and any region-specific requirements) as directed by management.
- Collaborate closely with the Commercial Department to review Invitations to Tender (ITTs) and prepare bid submissions. Ensure scope of work, technical competencies, and needed equipment are properly defined. Must maintain detailed knowledge of work scope, terms & conditions, and pricing for each project.
- In coordination with Sales, present new technologies or solutions to clients that improve their performance.
- Implement and uphold HSE Management Systems, ensure compliance with local regulations. Verify project compliance with all technical, operational, and HSE bulletins and requirements through SE management.
