Project Manager - Civil Engineering



Location: Essex, UK

Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Benefits

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent



We are working with a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong presence across Essex and the surrounding regions. Known for delivering high-quality infrastructure, highways, groundworks, and public realm projects, they are committed to excellence, safety, and client satisfaction.



Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join their team and lead the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion.



Key Responsibilities:



Manage multiple civil engineering projects across Essex.

Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.

Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Lead site teams and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and local authorities.

Monitor project progress and produce regular reports for senior management.

Identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Promote continuous improvement and innovation on-site.Requirements



Proven experience as a Project Manager in civil engineering or construction.

Strong technical knowledge of civils/groundworks, highways, drainage, and infrastructure.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver under pressure.

Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asta Powerproject).

Full UK driving licence.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management).

SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Platinum), and First Aid certifications.Desirable Skills



Experience working on drainage, utilities, or civils projects for a contractor or subcontractor.

Familiarity with NEC or JCT contracts.

Knowledge of temporary works coordination.What We Offer
