Job Title: Project Manager\n Location: Oxford / Didcot area\n Contract: 12 months - Inside IR35\n Start Date: Within the next 2-3 weeks\n Rate: Negotiable (dependent on experience)\n\nOverview\n\nWe are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a major highways and infrastructure scheme in the Oxford-Didcot area, with project values ranging from £30m to £150m. The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and technical expertise to ensure works are completed to programme, quality, and budget.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead the overall delivery of a large highways and civil engineering project.\n\nManage project planning, programming, and resource allocation.\n\nOversee major earthworks and diversion packages, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.\n\nProvide direction and support to site teams (Site Agents, Engineers, Subcontractors).\n\nEnsure compliance with HSEQ standards and company procedures.\n\nAct as the main point of contact for the client, stakeholders, and third parties.\n\nManage project reporting, progress updates, and risk registers.\n\nMonitor financial performance, cost control, and contract compliance.\n\nDrive a positive site culture with a focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery.\n\nRequirements\n\nProven experience as a Project Manager on major highways/civil engineering projects.\n\nStrong knowledge of earthworks, highways, and diversion works.\n\nTrack record of delivering projects valued £30m+.\n\nExcellent commercial, contractual, and stakeholder management skills.\n\nRelevant industry qualifications (degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid).\n\nStrong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.\n\nAbility to mobilise quickly and lead from the front.\n\nPackage\n\n12-month contract - Inside IR35.\n\nCompetitive day rate, negotiable depending on experience.\n\nImmediate start available (within the next 2 weeks)
