Overstreet Builders is a custom builder in the Chicago suburbs looking to fill the position of Project Manager. We are a family company that believes in conducting our business with integrity and in treating people honestly. Primary Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Office position with occasional site visitation for client and/or subcontractor meetings.
  • Estimate/bid custom home designs and options for new residential construction projects.
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Read, interpret, and understand project documentation, building code and municipal requirements, and communicate to outside vendors and subcontractors.
  • Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating price.
  • Learn amenities lists and inclusions for the various model homes, update and maintain records of bids to maintain current pricing.
  • Review Architecture plans and compare with received bid packages and proposed amenities lists to account for all inclusions and accuracy.
  • Prepare construction budget, update specifications, identify and project costs and resolve cost discrepancies.
  • Review engineering plans for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and manage permit applications for various municipalities, communicate with Surveyors, Engineers, Architects to prepare surveys, plats, and plans for permit submittal.
  • Prepare plans and purchase orders for building of project and supply necessary information to subcontractors.
  • Work with Site Superintendent on each project through to completion.
  • Arrange/coordinate detailed sketches for Site Superintendents for construction.
  • Formulate and follow project schedule in Buildertrend.

Skills:

  • Read and understand blueprints, plans and specifications.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and math abilities.
  • Proficient with Dropbox and Adobe.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate proficiently via email.
  • Previous experience in Construction Management and/or Estimating.
  • Experience with Buildertrend software.
  • Organized, team player, detail oriented, multi-tasker, critical thinker/problem solver with excellent time management.

Education and Experience:

· 4-year degree in Construction Management or similar field ().

· Estimating, Construction Management or similar experience (7-10 years).
