Do you have the leadership skills to guide multi-disciplinary teams and the technical insight to manage complex infrastructure builds?\n\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Project Manager to join a growing civil engineering business with a strong presence across the East of England. This role will see you lead major waterways and heavy civil engineering projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and sustainability.\n\nThis is a permanent, full-time role based across the Cambridge and Peterborough corridor, so local knowledge and proximity are essential.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Lead and manage the successful delivery of complex civil engineering projects in the water and heavy civils space, from inception to handover.\n\n * \n\n Oversee on-site operations, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with health & safety regulations.\n\n * \n\n Coordinate internal resources and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing site team.\n\n * \n\n Maintain strong communication with stakeholders including designers, suppliers, and the commercial team.\n\n * \n\n Proactively manage project risks, change management, quality assurance, and financial reporting.\n\n * \n\n Champion a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility on site.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n\n * \n\n Proven experience as a Project Manager in the civil engineering sector, ideally with a focus on water infrastructure, heavy civils, or environmental/waterways works.\n\n * \n\n Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts (NEC ), and project controls.\n\n * \n\n Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills.\n\n * \n\n Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and programme targets.\n\n * \n\n Relevant industry qualifications – ideally HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence – travel to multiple local sites will be required.\n\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\n * \n\n Competitive base salary of £60,000 – £70,000, depending on experience.\n\n * \n\n Company car or car allowance.\n\n * \n\n Pension contribution scheme and private healthcare options.\n\n * \n\n 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to work on industry-leading projects with a forward-thinking and reputable contractor.\n\n * \n\n Genuine long-term career progression within a growing business.\n\nReady to Lead with Purpose?\n\nIf you're a highly motivated Project Manager with the experience and energy to take on significant civil engineering challenges, we want to hear from you.
