Job Description
Cranleigh STEM has partnered with an innovative organisation in Oxford, we are looking for a driven Project Manager to provide management of and compliance with, our clients’ customers’ journey and project engineering stage gate processes.
As an early-stage business, our client will require a significant level of commitment and flexibility from the project manager. Due to the global nature of their customer base, there will be requirements to travel not only within the UK but overseas within the EU.
In addition to the above, you should ideally hold a relevant degree qualification and possess proven experience as a project manager.
The Role…
Oversee and coordinate trials and feasibility studies; liaise with clients to scope the project, liaise with internal functions including Technical Management, Engineering and Purchasing to schedule trials and ensure the scope of the trials is fully understood and followed by all parties, with all relevant documentation completed and data recorded as required.
Planning and supporting equipment installations at customer sites in the UK and/or abroad; liaising with clients to agree on the system specification and project scope, whilst liaising with internal functions including Engineering & Purchasing along with third-party contractors.
Key Responsibilities…
- Lead, manage and coordinate projects effectively.
- Deliver project KPIs and milestone targets.
- Communicate effectively and provide regular, accurate progress reports.
- Oversight and management of multi-disciplined teams including employees, contractors, and client staff.
- Ensure compliance with the current processes and templates.
- Build strong customer relationships and provide excellent customer service.
- Mitigate risks through detailed planning and applying processes consistently.
- Ensure continuous learning feedback is effective and that performance continually improves.
- Ensure all RAMS are reviewed and logged.
- Liaise with Finance to prepare and validate budgets and maintain accurate cost reports and cost-to-complete forecasts.
- Ensure all works comply with food safety requirements.
- Ensure systems are completed and fulfil customer technical specifications.
Skills and requirements…
- Hold a project management qualification.
- Proven project management experience ensuring completion on time, within budget, to agreed scope and meeting customer expectations.
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft Project to prepare and monitor detailed plans.
- Knowledgeable using stage gate methodologies for projects.
- Organised and able to manage time and effectively prioritise tasks.
- Consistently set high standards of behaviour and a strong work ethic.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated; able to work under pressure.
- Flexible regarding working hours.
Desirable…
- CDM experience
- Experience in the deployment of capital equipment, preferably within a manufacturing environment, would be highly advantageous.
- Experience working within the food industry.
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Role: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week)
