Role:

We are expanding our team with this new role which will bridge the sales and operations teams. We are looking for a project delivery manager to take on the responsibility of delivering EV chargers to our B2B customers. Reporting into the Head of Sales you will be the main point of contact between sales and the customer after point of sale and be responsible for ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of EV chargers, including managing installation partners where necessary. The role will vary, some projects will be small, and others will be more complex. You will have the opportunity to develop this role and grow with the company. In order to track progress and development, a monetary target will be associated to the project cost figure and an annual bonus will be awarded based on achievement throughout the year.

Location:

Hybrid, must be able to travel throughout the UK and Ireland to meet customers and perform site visits. Ideally located in easy reach of our Abingdon office to help you be a part of our team. You will also be able to work from home.

Key responsibilities: 

• Project manage the delivery of EV charging station installations on time and within budget, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained throughout
• Arrange and manage suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure compliant, high quality and safe delivery
• Effectively manage and monitor all project and operational risks, in close collaboration with wider commercial team
• Provide regular and accurate project reports to the management team and client, including programme, costs, risks, supply chain and operational performance
• Full project budgetary control ensuring the on-going accurate measurement and valuation of all works ensuring accurate and timely invoicing to ensure recovery of all costs incurred including relevant margins
• Deal with escalations involving project delivery and ensure these are communicated with wider team as appropriate
• Deliver all relevant health, safety, environmental & associated legal requirements, ensuring contractors’ ongoing compliance through inspections and auditing
• Ensure all projects are presented at point of handover with zero defects
• Attend the project handover meetings to check customer satisfaction, ensure all chargers are operational and the end user knows how to operate the backend software
• Liaise with contractors to ensure the quick close-out of any post-handover defects
• Support a proactive culture of continuous improvement by setting high standards across all projects and within the business team
• Keep SMART project management reports so that all members of the team can easily see the status of any project
• Liaise with all members of the team including Sales, Business Development, Operations, Marketing & Finance as appropriate

Required competence:

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Excellent project management skills
• Proven track record of managing infrastructure/building projects on time and on budget, plus ability to develop, refine and manage processes through a system of continuous improvement
• Flexibility to attend site at point of survey and work closely with Sales team at “project handover” and continue with client
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy against original specification provided by sales
• Time served Approved Electrician with BS7671 18th Edition (UK) (preferred but not imperative)
• NEBOSH or equivalent qualification
• Understanding of the code of practice for the installation of electric vehicles latest edition
• Understanding of the ENA EV application process
• Understanding of electrical test certification and technical ability to challenge results provided
• In-depth understanding of all legislation, regulations, working practices and other codes of practice relevant to the role
• Excellent project management skills
• Proven track record of managing infrastructure/building projects on time and on budget, plus ability to develop, refine and manage processes through a system of continuous improvement
• Experience working with private and public property owners and process management of obtaining all necessary approvals from the likes of grid operators and permitting authorities 
• Excellent communication skills
• Pragmatic problem-solving skills and ability to communicate and negotiate successfully 
• Knowledge of project management software, and Microsoft packages, specifically excel
• Work autonomously, whilst working as part of a collaborative team
• Experience with renewable technologies such as Solar PV and Battery installations
• Full UK driving license

 Additional desired experience:

 ·       Experience of upselling and cross selling other products to further develop customer projects

·        Experience as an EV driver and utilisation of public charging networks

·        Eagerness to learn as part of a rapidly developing industry and have a keen interest in sustainability
