Job DescriptionJob Description
The Project Engineer works directly with Russell Standard’s Project Engineers and other staff to coordinate various projects and job sites. This position offers personal and professional development to students in Construction or Engineering programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives (involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility)
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Develop and maintain documents, spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps for project needs
- Assist in researching and preparing information and materials for projects
- Assist in identifying variances between initial quotes and actual project needs
- Perform office and clerical work to maintain organization and integrity of workspace and filing system
Work Environment
This position’s work setting is primarily office based but will involve frequent visits to job sites. Job site visits may result in limited exposure to chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, gases, and other substances used in a construction environment.
Skills and Education - Required
- In pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's program in Construction Management of Engineering from an accredited program
- Completion of sophomore year by May of 2026
- Well established organizational skills with strong attention to detail, record-keeping skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work independently without close supervision
- Ability to work closely with customers and outside vendors on a regular basis
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Ability to perform primarily sedentary work, yet occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force
- Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiting manual dexterity
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including a computer, copier, fax, phone and other similar office equipment
