Position Summary:

The Project Engineering Manager will lead and coordinate engineering activities for multiple projects from concept through design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning. This individual will manage cross-functional teams, ensure technical accuracy and code compliance, and maintain project timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in mechanical or industrial engineering, project management, and team leadership within a manufacturing, process, or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all phases of engineering project execution, from scope development and design to startup and closeout.
• Manage and mentor a team of design, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry codes, standards, and customer specifications (ASME, API, ANSI, etc.).
• Oversee equipment design, layout, and integration with manufacturing or process systems.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; resolve technical challenges proactively.
• Support procurement by evaluating vendors and reviewing equipment specifications and bids.
• Drive continuous improvement in project execution, engineering quality, and operational efficiency.
• Prepare progress reports, change orders, and project documentation for leadership and clients.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline required; Master’s degree .
• 7+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in project management or engineering leadership.
• Proven experience managing large, multi-disciplinary industrial or manufacturing projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, design standards, and fabrication/manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to lead diverse teams.
• Demonstrated success in managing budgets, schedules, and technical performance.
• PMP certification or eligibility a plus.

Experience:

• Experience in process equipment, automation, or capital project environments.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
• Familiarity with CAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other engineering design software.
• Experience working in ASME, ISO, or regulated manufacturing facilities.
