We are seeking an Project Engineer with hotel and restaurant construction/renovation experience to join our Torrance-based team.
Responsibilities
- Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and trade/craft persons.
- Implement pre-construction strategic plan.
- Obtain and maintain construction permits, manage payments.
- Develop and maintain logs as required by Project Manager and MBI policies.
- Manage, create, distribute, and file records of certain contract documents.
- Establish procedures for electronic documents, including RFIs and correspondence.
- Manage, record, and file testing and inspection processes.
- Manage submittals; ensure material deliveries align with project schedule.
- Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders; update as-built construction documents.
- Build relationships across diverse backgrounds; lead and coach team members effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is
- Minimum two years of related experience in hotel and restaurant construction/renovation projects.
- Project management certification is
- Detail-oriented to manage multiple project tasks.
- Basic understanding of construction legal requirements and business practices.
- Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Intermediate Procore, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and web application skills.
- Active listening and effective communication; openness to diverse feedback.
- Ability to travel to project sites on occasion.
- Proximity to office for ease of commutes to regular workplace assignment.
