Timeline Design+Build is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineer to support our Production Team in executing high-end residential construction projects. This role bridges the office and field, ensuring that communication flows seamlessly, documentation is accurate, and every construction phase is executed with precision. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at multitasking, and is passionate about delivering excellence in custom residential construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination
    • Assist Project Managers, Site Managers, and Superintendents in day-to-day construction operations.

    • Coordinate jobsite setup including signage, safety gear, and logistics.

    • Order, track, and perform quality control on materials.

    • Process subcontractor contracts and support documentation flow.

    • Manage storage logistics and jobsite camera systems for project documentation.

    • Respond to RFIs and assist with administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Documentation & Administration
    • Prepare and maintain comprehensive field binders.

    • Draft meeting agendas and record minutes.

    • Manage change orders, purchase orders, and subcontractor onboarding.

    • Coordinate procurement of client-supplied items using Fohlio.

    • Track and file subcontractor Certificates of Insurance (COIs).

    • Review job budgets and GP reports.

    • Help schedule subcontractor reviews and support relationship-building.

  • Scheduling & Communication
    • Coordinate key project milestones with Marketing (e.g., Matterport scans).

    • Draft and distribute neighborhood notification letters prior to project starts.

    • Track punch lists and coordinate warranty walks for seamless project closeout.

  • Field Support
    • Ensure sites are equipped with proper tools and safety equipment.

    • Support daily jobsite logistics and contribute to schedule adherence.

    • Be an active, problem-solving presence in the field.

  • Change Management
    • Help process and track change orders and ensure accurate documentation across platforms.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field .

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years in residential construction or related field.

  • Skills & Software:
    • Familiarity with Buildertrend and Fohlio .

    • Experience with PlanGrid and Bluebeam is a plus.

    • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

    • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and take initiative independently.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Comfortable navigating active construction sites including stairs and ladders.

  • Able to work in conditions typical of residential construction (e.g., framing, excavation, finish work).

Schedule

  • Full-Time: MondayFriday

  • Based in Saratoga, CA with daily site visits and hands-on field engagement
