Project Engineer (Rail)

Our client, a global consulting and engineering group working across construction and transport services, are seeking a Project Engineer to join their team on a large railway project in Cork.ResponsibilitiesOverseeing and aligning the design process to ensure the attainment of a comprehensive and seamlessly integrated final design that meets quality standards.Supervising the design, construction, and system integration across all segments and interfacing projects, ensuring adherence to the program schedule, safety approvals, and technical standards as outlined in I-SET-9100 Engineering Management for Projects.Collaborating and liaising with all stakeholders involved in the project.Contributing to various reporting aspects, including safety, technical matters, program updates, and cost management.Assisting in risk management by implementing contract protocols, initiating early warning processes, and maintaining risk registers, such as the employer’s project risk log, contract risk register, and early warning risk register.Offering technical assistance to support overall commercial and contract management activities related to the project.Providing technical insights for program monitoring and scheduling, particularly in administering the NEC 4 Option C Target Cost contract with activity schedule.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a relevant project management certification.Previous experience in a design engineer position, preferably across transport/civil/railway projects.Proficient in utilizing NEC 3 or 4 contracts, with a preference for Option C – target cost contracts during the post-contract phase.Demonstrated understanding of NEC Contract Mechanisms.Coordinating design development and construction activities to deliver a cost effective, high quality and safe approach to design, construction, commissioning and other technical activitiesOversight of project controls encompassing design submissions, Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, meeting minutes, and approval processesWhy apply with Sonas?We can provide insights to the best salaries, rates and benefits on offerOne point of contact – We can manage all your applications, interviews and negotiationsWe will get your CV seen by the right hiring managersST-IND-23N-K764 Tags:
