Position Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with and report directly to the Project Manager or Construction Manager. Your work location may be in the office or at a project site. At the site, you will lead health and safety initiatives, ensure quality and workmanship, and uphold professional and ethical standards. Your main responsibilities include contract administration, project planning and scheduling, and project reporting. You will also support Project Management in legal, contractual, and other project issues. In the office, your support will extend to estimating, project execution planning, procurement, process improvement, and pre-construction activities.

Main Responsibilities

Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision

Perform quantity calculations and measurements

Lead preparation of work plans and work packages

Support field surveying and work layout, including elevation and control points

Compile and process daily labor timesheets

Assist in creating Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)

Participate in safety reviews, toolbox talks, and safety training

Order and schedule materials

Supervise field operations

Support projects across various states including North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia

Perform material takeoffs and basic engineering calculations

Assist in data gathering for submittals and reports

Prepare purchase orders and assist with procurement

Maintain project records and correspondence

Enter and review project costs

Generate change orders and as-built data

Support subcontractor operations

Prepare execution plans and work packets for future projects

Estimate small projects

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or related field

Up to 4 years of engineering or construction experience

Ability to interpret engineering plans and specifications

Ability to access all points of a construction site in various climates

Motivated with a passion for learning and initiative

Strong work ethic and commitment to quality

Integrity and ethical standards

Passion for safety and accident prevention

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently and in teams to meet deadlines

Strong organizational and time management skills

Our benefits start on day one, including vacation, holiday pay, 401K match, wellness awards, and more. The base salary ranges from $75,000 to $95,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
