RK&K is hiring a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our team in our Baltimore, MD office. In this role, you will work closely with project team members in performing preliminary engineering studies, evaluations, condition assessments, sanitary sewer related pipeline and manhole rehabilitation and replacement designs, as well as preforming construction and inspection related services on a variety of municipal engineering projects improving wastewater infrastructure.

Essential Functions

Prepare design drawings, specifications and costs estimates for wastewater infrastructure projects

Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to wastewater systems

Prepare and review technical memoranda, engineering reports, design drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents

Direct and assist with the development of project staff and collaboration with subconsultants

Facilitate internal and client related meetings, presentations and review and approval of design plans

Participate in project pursuits, community presentations and outreach tasks

Support team with conducting field investigation and inspection related activities and prepare engineering reports.

Assist in managing projects with office engineering services (Review engineering documents, as-builts, condition inspection data, preparation of design documents, submittal review, contract document interpretation, requests for information, client/contractor correspondence, change requests, conduct site visits and coordination with inspection personnel)

Provide construction inspection and administration services for wastewater pipeline construction projects.

Communicate effectively and coordinate with clients, project team members including other engineering disciplines, designers and subconsultants

Required Skills And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering, related engineering field or appropriate experience in the wastewater field

Minimum of six (6) years of increasingly responsible project-related experience in the study, inspection/analysis, condition assessment, design, and construction administration and inspection services of wastewater facilities and infrastructure (pipelines and force mains)

A self-starter, versatile motivated and interested in working on a variety of projects supporting wastewater design, inspection/assessment and construction-related infrastructure projects

Excellent technical writing and communication skills

Demonstrate proficiency in the documentation, organization and presentation of project related data

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint

Proficiency with AutoCAD is desirable

Education Skills And Experience

Professional Engineering (P.E.) License

NASSCO MACP/PACP Certifications
