Position Summary:
We are looking for a Responsible Project Engineering with good trustworthy work ethic that can manage 4/6 projects around the bay area and or Central Valley depending on where the projects are located. The Project Engineer in this position works closely with the Owners, Superintendent, Project Manager, Project Engineer Assistant, Sub Contractor and others on his/her team and is primarily focused on performing all submittal, RFI, change orders, meeting minutes, budget revisions, and job closeout. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience working with Superintendents, Project Managers, and Subcontractors. Opportunities also exist for exposure to Clients, Architects, Engineers and Consultants to determine the work scope and costs for projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain Schedule of Values for each project, for billing purposes.

Create and maintain a cost analysis for each project.

Communicate well with the estimating team on project turnover.

Attend weekly meetings with Project Management Team.

Ability to run several jobs.

Assist Site Foreman, order materials needed for foreman, ensure foreman has required documents needed onsite.

Prepare, submit and follow up on Submittals, Change orders, and RFI’s.

Daily site visits to each project assigned to.

Go over costs with foreman/employees to ensure the projects stays within Budget and is profitable.

Maintain project folders with all pertinent information.

Submit Jobsite reports weekly no exceptions.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a 4-year college with 4 or more years or experience as a Project Engineer.

Ability to read and analyze construction documents for commercial and civil construction projects

Knowledge of Microsoft computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to compose reports and business correspondence.

Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with Managers and Vendors.

Mathematical proficiency utilizing fractions, percentages, ratios for practical situations.

Ability to solve practical problems and examine a variety of tangible variables.

Ability to interpret a variety of written and oral communications.

Ability to pass drug test, background investigation, OSHA 30 Hour.

Ability to work legally in the United States.
-
Ability to learn and follow safety instruction from supervisors, safety consultants, and/or OSHA representatives.

Ability to attain safety training certificates/cards for equipment specifically but not limited to OSHA 30 hour, and First Aid and CPR.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employees may be required to drive long distances. Employees are frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms including above the shoulders, climb or balance, stoop; kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Close, distance, , peripheral, and depth perception vision is required.
