Project Engineer - Mission-Critical Construction

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, entry-level Project Engineer to support our data center and telecom facility projects on-site at one of our active construction locations on the East Coast. This is an exceptional opportunity to enter the data center industry, gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge infrastructure projects, and learn from seasoned professionals while working directly on-site with our project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily on-site engineering support for data center and telecom facility construction projects
- Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination, scheduling, and documentation
- Conduct site walks and inspections to monitor construction progress and quality standards
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure timely project execution
- Review and process submittals, RFIs, and change orders under Project Manager guidance
- Maintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, photos, and meeting minutes
- Support material tracking, delivery coordination, and logistics planning
- Assist with project closeout activities including punch lists and final documentation
- Participate in project meetings and provide status updates to senior project leadership
- Learn and apply industry best practices for mission-critical facility construction
- Support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with site safety protocols
- Interface with design teams to clarify technical requirements and resolve field issues
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Valid driver's license for local site travel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Self-motivated with eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
- Professional demeanor and ability to build relationships with diverse project teams
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project demands and site conditions
Qualifications
- or co-op experience in construction
- Familiarity with project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project)
- Understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems
- OSHA 30-Hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Interest in mission-critical facilities and technology infrastructure
- Experience with AutoCAD or Revit
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk job sites for extended periods
- Comfortable working in active construction environments
- Capable of climbing ladders and stairs
- Able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, high-visibility vest)
Work Location
- Site-based position at one of our active East Coast project locations
- Consistent project site assignment with potential for future project transitions
- Minimal travel required
