Overview
A Project Engineer III Team Lead is needed to guide a small team of approximately five engineers and CAD designers on substation design projects. This role includes oversight of physical layout and protection & control design packages, serving as the sealing engineer for most team deliverables, and maintaining strong client relationships while supporting business development. The position reports directly to the Divisional Manager.
Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and coordinate the work of junior engineers, designers, and CAD operators on the assigned team.

Act as the main point of contact for customersoverseeing existing projects, ensuring satisfaction, and supporting planning for future work.

Demonstrate strong expertise across substation engineering disciplines, including physical layout, protection and control design, relay programming, field support, commissioning, and relay testing.

Perform and direct engineering design tasks, including calculations, use of design software, and adherence to engineering manuals and procedures.

Manage and guide the preparation of detailed project documents such as specifications and bid packages.

Review and refine full plan sets to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with design intent.

Supervise and support the development of Project Engineer I and II team members.

Use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook for daily project and communication needs.

Collaborate effectively with staff at all organizational levels.

Carry out other duties as needed within the scope of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.

510 years of relevant engineering experience.
-
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
