Project Engineer II

The project engineering position requires broad technical knowledge and understanding in mechanical, structural, electrical and ocean engineering fields. The position involves managing technical aspects of offshore umbilical design and manufacturing projects. Cross functional engagement and ability to execute in a team environment interacting with internal departments including project management, procurement, manufacturing and testing as well as external clients, testing facilities, vendors, etc are required. Applicants must be capable of expressing and presenting technical information and ideas both verbally and in writing.

 Some travel is required. 

 

  • Bachelors degree in Mechnical, Electrical, Marine, or Ocean Engineering

  • Minimum 2-5 years of engineering experience. Preferred in the oil and gas industry.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures/reports, governmental regulations, client specifications, and industry specifications. 
  • Ability to write technical documents of various kinds as well as business or commercial correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and vendors. 
  • Experience in the use of Mathcad or other engineering calculation programs. 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks. 

  • A U.S government issued TWIC badge is required to obtain access to the Port of Panama City.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.

Working Conditions

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night. 
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place. 
  • Work surface is stable (flat).

  • Work with integrated teams to help develop solutions to the entire product line at Oceaneering’s Panama City manufacturing facility. 

  • Work with the engineering team to complete day-to-day tasks. Lead project executions to generate key technical deliverables such as procurement specifications, manufacturing production documentation, design reports, assembly procedures, test plans, procedures, and final reports, etc. 

  • Coordinate the effective utilization of engineering procedures, methods, design reviews, reporting, documentation and archiving of data required.

  • Manage and lead projects, ensuring timely delivery and meeting client expectations.

  • Be involved in local process improvement initiatives within the engineering communities.  Help generate and update calculations and other toolsets utilized by the engineers, designers, and technicians. 

  • Interface with internal stakeholders such as project management, process and manufacturing engineering, testing technicians and others at both the Panama City facility as well as other Oceaneering sites. 

  • Able to work with minimal guidance from management to identify and solve problems.

  • Be able to take on stretched assignments, other duties as assigned and ability to support 24/7 operation. 

  • Support manufacturing/testing functions for questions, comments, concerns, or non-conformances when required.

  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends and propose innovative solutions.
