Project Engineer - Facilities

Our team is committed to delivering Collins Class submarine sustainment that provides an agile and potent capability for the Royal Australian Navy.About the OpportunityReporting to the Capital Works Manager, you will project manage capital procurement and engineering projects from concept through to completion. The projects are critical to improving the efficiency and sustainability of facilities and infrastructure in support of the submarine business. You will also assist the maintenance team with general technical advice on maintenance engineering issues and problem solving breakdowns when required.This a 1 year fixed-term contract.Responsibilities Through design principles, develop scopes of work and technical specifications for facilities upgrade and improvement projects.Provide technical review of quotes and tenders from suppliers and determine fit for purpose project solutionsManage delivery by contractors and perform contractor site inductions, permits to work and ensure contractor conformance to ASC WHS&E policies and external legislative requirementsSupport the Facilities Department in regards to the daily activities of site facilities managementEnsure compliance with any reasonable instruction that is given to you by the Capital Works Manager Skills & Experiences Engineering Degree qualifications in a Mechanical or Electrical fieldExpertise in providing technical support, project support and project management in respect to the development of facility requirementsStrong experience of infrastructure and plant and equipment installation and maintenanceAbility and confidence to work with a diverse range of stakeholdersExperience of managing facilities projects safely and within schedule, cost and quality boundaries.
