Position Title: Project Engineer/Estimator
Company: Acutron, LLC.

Position Summary:
The Project Engineer/Estimator provides essential support to the Project Management Department by assisting with project setup, coordination, and oversight throughout all phases of the project. This role is also responsible for performing estimating duties, including quantity takeoffs, bid preparation, pricing, and analysis to support competitive and accurate proposals. The Project Engineer/Estimator helps ensure projects are organized, documented, and executed efficiently while developing a strong understanding of both project management and estimating functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Estimating Process:
- Prepare bid documents, interpret plans and specifications, conduct take-offs, develop estimates, and refine pricing strategies.
- Communicate regularly with customers and vendors to complete estimates accurately and in a timely manner.
- Have a firm understanding of scope of work and budget.
Project Management Support:
- Assist project management department in executing mechanical insulation and firestopping projects, from submittal/work order package preparation and material/equipment ordering to project oversight and job closeout.
- Manage jobsite passes and training certifications.
- Review and mark mechanical drawings, and provide takeoffs and/or estimates, as needed.
- Provide support to estimating and accounting departments.
Qualification/Requirements:
- Working experience in construction industry a plus.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (insulation and firestopping, ) and ability to read mechanical plans.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and adjust schedule to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Availability to interview in the Honolulu office within 72 hours of request.
- Valid driver’s license.
Education/Training:
- High School degree or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in related field is .
- Previous work experience in construction or related field .
- Estimating software (*e.g.: FastWrap, Blue Beam) and AutoCAD experience a plus.
- MS Office skills (MS Word and Excel).
