A Project Engineer / Controls Engineer / Lead Engineer is required to join an industry leader in Chicago, IL.

 

The successful Project Engineer / Controls Engineer / Lead Engineer will come from a background of designing, engineering, and delivering advanced building automation and energy management systems, preferably with Niagara Framework.

$68k – 124k (dependent on experience and tenure)

Project Engineer / Controls Engineer / Lead Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer building automation and energy management systems based on energy codes and project specifications
  • Analyze building control and mechanical system performance at both the system and campus level
  • Develop project-specific programming solutions to improve building efficiency
  • Build custom user interfaces (front ends) to enhance end-user interaction with the system
  • Interface with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams
  • Program complex DDC and PLC systems to meet project requirements
  • Participate in project financial tracking, including monthly audits and close-out reviews
  • Provide input on engineering standards and support continuous improvement efforts

 

Project Engineer / Controls Engineer / Lead Engineer Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical ; other disciplines welcome)
  • Exposure to electronics and electrical circuit basics
  • Understanding of basic programming concepts
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with Direct Digital Controls (DDC) theory and applications
  •  Local travel up to 50% (mileage reimbursed)
  • Office and field-based; site visits may involve construction/outdoor conditions and ladder use
  • Resides within 45 minutes of Chicago, IL
