Summary
Supervises the engineering activity (all disciplines) on a project, or designated portions of a project, for a global business unit. Plans and directs engineering assignments on one or more projects. Has technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments.
Education
Position typically requires a degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university; specialized courses in relevant general engineering, architectural design or an appropriate engineering discipline, and 12 or more years of progressive work experience, including supervision, preferably in project design engineering; may include other relevant types of engineering including startup, field engineering or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants or engineering/construction firms.

  1. Software knowledge requirements? Fluent in MS365 or office based products (excel, PP, word, outlook), MSTeams is essential, some internal LANL tools that they will need to be able to pick up
  1. Any required certifications? Any field engineer certs – pressure testing or related
  2. ? Too limited availability, cannot accommodate hybrid unless in an emergency situation
  3. Are there any physical requirements for this? (Lifting 50 lbs., walking upstairs, standing for extended periods, etc.?) no, other than being on your feet for an extended period
  4. What are your top 3 skills that are desired? team fit and able to work with multiple people across the install groups and various leaders, outward focused (“humble, hungry, and smart”), skilled problem solvers; are in dire need of folks with vast electrical background; glovebox systems would be a huge plus; manufacturing familiarity would be a plus; NQA1 experience would be a plus; construction experience, facility based mechanical systems
  5. What is your availability to review resumes and act on them? will have help from multiple admins, all leads will review submittals, will move faster on very strong candidates (interview within a week is the goal), will be more of a panel interview style trying to have a lead from each group whenever possible; plan is to fill as many spots as quickly as possible rather than a staggered approach
