Project Engineer

Job Purpose
This role supports the Project Engineering and Supply Chain team for a major project based in China. The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing vendor packages, equipment, and materials supply performance to meet project schedules and objectives, ensuring timely delivery to construction yards. The role involves coordinating vendor and sub-vendor readiness for key manufacturing milestones, ensuring closure of punch items, and implementing constructability and lessons learned from previous projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the company's interests, values, and objectives in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Oversee China-based vendor packages, equipment, and materials supply to meet project schedules and objectives.
- Coordinate and ensure vendor and sub-vendor preparation for key manufacturing milestones such as PIM, FAT/SAT.
- Follow up and close punch items to ensure no vendor carryover to yard and implement lessons learned from previous projects.
- Ensure effective implementation of HSE and quality standards across all sites.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate delivery risks.
- Monitor vendor performance against KPIs, delivery and required on-site dates, and project objectives.
- Identify threats and risks, provide solutions to avoid issues, and propose initiatives to improve performance and create schedule float.
- Drive continuous improvement and implementation of lessons learned.
- Communicate vendor performance effectively to the management team.
- Foster trust and establish strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross-functional and external parties for participation in specific milestone events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Sciences or Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in project management, engineering, construction, procurement, or related functions in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong focus on HSE to promote safety awareness and expectations, with willingness to act or intervene if necessary.
- Broad knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
- Experience with offshore facilities design, construction, and operations.
- Knowledge of engineering execution, quality and inspection processes, and procedures.
- Experience in materials and equipment manufacturing processes, yard fabrication, and construction methods.
- Excellent written and spoken communication and reporting skills in English; proficiency in Chinese is preferred.
- Broad knowledge of design requirements for multidiscipline engineering and construction environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Navisworks review, and other business tools.
