Perikin Enterprises is seeking a Project Engineer for a position at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold AFB, TN. This position is in support of Perikin’s contract to provide engineering services; program, project, financial, and information management; and administrative support to the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) High Speed Systems Test (HSST) Program Management Office (PMO) located at AEDC. The HSST program develops new technologies to improve test and evaluation (T&E) of high speed and hypersonic systems. The projects executed across the US under the HSST program will transform America's hypersonic T&E capabilities.
This Project Engineer position will have primary responsibility for the technical success of T&E technology development and test projects at AEDC and various hypersonic facilities across the country. Emphasis will be placed on the candidate’s engineering background and their desire to further advance their engineering knowledge and skills. In addition, the Project Engineer will collaborate with the management team on contracting, scheduling and financial management aspects of project management.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
- Supporting development of new ground test technologies and test techniques.
- Support planning, execution, analysis and reporting of aerodynamic, aerothermal, propulsion, seeker/sensor, and other tests in advanced hypersonic ground test facilities.
- Providing technical support to integrated product teams (IPTs) during the development of high energy test facility systems and subsystems such as fuel delivery systems, hydraulic systems, high pressure air systems, vacuum systems, water systems, etc.
- Supporting the preparation of operational work instructions, system safety hazard analysis, and maintenance requirements for facility operations.
- Supporting field installation and operational test activities as required.
- Coordinating requirements, plans and objectives with internal and external test customers.
- Assisting in the preparation of detailed test plans.
- Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on ground test facility performance and delivery of final, validated data to customers.
- Working with other support staff to manage cost and schedule and prepare monthly status reports of technical, financial, and schedule performance.
- Tracking execution and notifying leadership of issues and funding needs.
- Support Government, industry, and academia working groups on emerging aerodynamic ground test and evaluation of specialized technical areas of interest.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or appropriate related discipline.
- Master’s degree in engineering related field is highly desired.
- A minimum of 4 years of direct experience in engineering, planning, conducting and analyzing test programs in aeronautical ground test facilities.
- A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in supporting propulsion ground test and evaluation programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Experience with aerospace ground test facility operational systems, to include: high pressure/high temperature systems, force measurement systems, facility and test article operations, and instrumentation and control systems.
- Experience in supporting the of contract documents such as cost estimations and Statements of Work (SOW).
- An unwavering attention to detail, exemplary work ethic, and grace under pressure.
- The ability to build positive relationships with coworkers, customers and executing organizations.
- Mastery of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Expertise with AutoCAD, MATLAB, and computational analysis tools are highly desired.
- Excellence in oral communication, technical writing, and presentation preparation.
- Experience in the development or use of mechanical system drawings, P&IDs, CM tools, maintenance training, and interface control documents is highly desired.
WORK CONTEXT
- A current Secret security clearance or eligibility for Secret clearance.
- Potential for up to 25% travel.
