Position Summary:

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Project Engineer to join our dynamic, collaborative team. Key Responsibilities:



Leadership & Innovation:

  • Lead cross-functional project teams with vision and strategic thinking, inspiring collaborative excellence across all project phases from concept through completion
  • Drive innovative solutions by identifying creative approaches to complex engineering challenges and implementing cutting-edge methodologies
  • Champion change management initiatives that enhance project delivery efficiency and team performance
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and project team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth


Strategic Problem-Solving:

  • Analyze complex project challenges using critical thinking and creative problem-solving methodologies to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks through comprehensive analysis and strategic planning, transforming potential obstacles into opportunities for improvement
  • Optimize project workflows by implementing process improvements and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and quality outcomes



Collaborative Excellence:

  • Foster dynamic partnerships with cross-functional teams including operations, environmental compliance, business development, and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate collaborative decision-making processes that leverage diverse perspectives and expertise to achieve optimal project outcomes
  • Build and nurture client relationships that drive customer satisfaction and create opportunities for strategic business growth



Technical & Project Management Leadership:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans that balance technical excellence with innovative approaches to schedule, budget, and resource management
  • Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates with meticulous attention to detail and creative design solutions
  • Conduct strategic site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks while identifying opportunities for optimization
  • Lead proposal development and client presentations, showcasing innovative solutions and technical expertise to drive business growth



Strategic Growth & Innovation:

  • Identify emerging opportunities within the division and broader market, contributing to strategic planning and business development initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement by researching and implementing innovative technologies, methodologies, and best practices
  • Contribute to thought leadership through participation in industry organizations, technical publications, and professional development activities
  • Support organizational innovation by contributing creative ideas and solutions that enhance CMT Services' competitive advantage



Qualifications:



Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, related field, or 5+ years of progressive experience in utilities, construction, or waste management with demonstrated leadership responsibilities



Technical Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, innovative project management methodologies, and regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Competent in project management software (MS Project, Primavera) and understanding CAD tools with ability to leverage technology for creative solutions
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in risk assessment, cost-benefit analysis, and performance optimization



Experience:

  • PMP certification (or commitment to obtain within 12 months)
  • Government contracting experience with municipal, state, or federal entities
  • Environmental sustainability expertise including permitting processes and green building practices
  • Business development background with client-facing experience and proposal writing skills
  • Process improvement experience using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
  • Technology integration experience with experience implementing innovative tools and systems
