Project Engineer

Our client, a leading Tier 1 supplier of assembled automotive products, is currently hiring a Project Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all project elements including engineering design, quality planning, installation, commissioning and final buy-off phases as well as ensuring the project remains within budget in order to meet the requirements of the customer’s needs. The Project Engineer will: Coordinate all project phases—including planning, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and final buy-off—while ensuring delivery within budget and against project timelines and KPIs. Collaborate closely with customers, attending meetings and providing progress updates in line with APQP requirements. Manage both customer and internal APQP activities and participate in PPAP processes. Translate customer specifications into departmental actions or sub-supplier orders, managing resources and tracking progress throughout the project. Analyse and assess changes in customer or internal requirements, including feasibility studies and cost impacts. Identify potential project risks and implement corrective actions, including root cause analysis and problem resolution. The Project Engineer will have: Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft Project, with a good understanding of CATIA. Strong knowledge of APQP, FMEA, DFMEA/PFMEA, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles. Hands-on experience with APQP processes in an automotive or engineering environment. Engineering qualification – degree or completed apprenticeship, ideally with industry experience or a placement year. Background in manufacturing, preferably within the automotive or advanced engineering sectors. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple project elements and stakeholders.
