Project Engineer - Braintree - £35,000-£42,000 - 25 Days Holiday Bank Holidays An established engineering business in the Braintree area is looking to recruit a Project Engineer to lead and deliver a variety of manufacturing and process improvement projects. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering excellent long-term development. As a Project Engineer, you will take ownership of capital equipment projects, process optimisation, and new product introductions, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact improvements across production. Key Responsibilities: Plan, lead and deliver engineering projects including process upgrades, equipment installations, and facility improvements Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams Develop and manage timelines, budgets, and resource allocation Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness Design production layouts, tooling, and fixtures Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (ISO 9001, GMP) Prepare documentation including work instructions, risk assessments and SOPs Support training, validation and machine data control across the business About You: We're looking for a Project Engineer with: A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering Experience in a manufacturing or engineering projects role Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement methods CAD experience (SolidWorks ideal) and confidence with project/ERP systems Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills Hands-on experience with tooling, automation, or machine validation is highly desirable.
