Project Engineer

Primetals Technologies based in Sheffield UK are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to technically lead heavy engineering projects within the metals industry, focusing specifically on rolling mills & associated equipment.
You will have an enthusiasm for engineering, be results driven, customer focused and have a positive and solution-oriented attitude.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a multi-disciplined project team of engineers ensuring optimum performance and compliance with the engineering specification within the project timescale and budget.
  • Coordinate activities of all design disciplines involved in project execution whether in Global PT companies, subcontractors, or external partners.
  • When required ensure that equipment is manufactured, tested, installed and commissioned in accordance with the design / operational requirements.
  • Develop, maintain and cultivate effective relationships with internal functions, clients & suppliers.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive Leadership, team building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently on both technical and non-technical issues.
  • Understanding of Project Management, Planning, Procurement, Sales and R&D disciplines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities for self and others.
  • IT literate with department and business system tools, especially CAD systems.
