2 - Goal of Role:
This position is responsible for creating and modifying refrigeration system designs for commercial refrigeration/HVAC systems and refrigerants for external partners in a variety of applications from small store format, remodels to large grocery store chains.
3 - Tasks:
- Create, modify, and ensure implementation of engineering processes related to refrigeration system design
- Contribute to the research and application of initial design, retrofit or effective operation of commercial refrigeration systems
- Clarify and Document Project Scope Changes – maintain records and documented changes through the project
- Execution of unique, remodel, special projects, prototype, building system life-cycle or similar programs
- Research building codes throughout the country depending on project location
- Serve as subject matter expert in the design and application of commercial refrigeration/HVAC systems and refrigerants for external partners
- Guide outside consultants to resolve project specific design issues or to make improvements to prototypical designs
- Coordinate with all departments, third-party vendors, and customers to produce quotes and materials take-offs
- Provide support to Sales, Store Planning and Customer AEC Partners through all phases of project installation.
- Collaborates with stakeholders, resolves changes in project scope, issues and risks that may affect project implementation
- Work with Store Planning Team to devise solutions to complex engineering situations
- Complete designs in AutoCAD/Revit or Solid Works
- Recommend scope or product changes to External Stakeholders and Internal Sales department to offer a cohesive product offering on projects
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:

5 - Job specification/expertise:
- Associates Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC/R industry or similar or ole
- Knowledge of Commercial Building Systems and Construction techniques
- Knowledge of Mechanical Piping design and installation techniques
6 - Special requirements:
- Ability to read, analyze and understand documents provided by Architects/ Engineers as well as manufacturer specification data.
- Proficient skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS project, AutoCAD/Revit 2013 or newer
- Experience in Projectmates or similar PMO applications desired.
- Able to travel 25%.
7 - Physical requirements:
- Must be able to walk/move about a 144,000 sq ft manufacturing facility: 30% of the time
- Must be able to stand/walk/move about specific work area: 25% of the time
- Must be able to bend/reach/twist/stoop: 15% of the time
- Must be able to lift up to 15lbs on a frequent basis: 10% of the time
- Must be able to lift over 15lbs on an infrequent basis: 30% of the time
- Must be able to work and operate a computer: 95% of the time
- Vision is required to analyze and process work; and to work on computers and other office equipment
- Hearing is essential for safety reasons; and to communicate with employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, suppliers and customers via conversation, group meetings, and/or phone conferences
